- Open Sovereign and make sure you’re signed in to the account you want to delete โ the delete option only appears when you’re signed in.
- Go to your account tab: ๐ My Account (or โญ Upgrade if you’re on the free plan).
- Scroll to the โ Danger Zone section at the bottom.
- Tap ๐๏ธ Delete My Account & All Data.
- In the confirmation dialog, type
DELETEand confirm.
This is immediate and permanent. Once you confirm, your account and cloud data are removed right away. There is no undo and no recovery. If you want a copy of your data first, use Accounts → Save to export it before you delete.
What gets deleted
When you confirm deletion, Sovereign permanently removes everything tied to your account from our servers (Supabase). That includes:
- Your account / login โ the auth record, including your email address and any Apple or Google sign-in link.
- Your profile โ plan tier and your end-to-end-encryption salt.
- Net-worth snapshots โ every saved snapshot of your net worth (including any end-to-end-encrypted values).
- Metals trade log โ all of your gold, silver, platinum, and palladium trade entries.
- Spending rows โ all imported and entered spending data.
- Future-income projections โ your FI / retirement income entries.
- Saved devices and price-alert thresholds.
- Shared links โ any read-only snapshot links you created.
The deletion runs server-side under your own authenticated session, so it only ever targets your own data. After it completes you are signed out automatically.
What remains
A few things are deliberately not touched by in-app account deletion:
- Data stored only on your device. Sovereign keeps a local copy of your data on each device (in the browser’s
localStorageon the web, or the app’s local container on iOS). Deleting your account does not wipe this local copy โ so the app keeps working offline / in manual mode. To remove the on-device copy too, clear the site data for sovereign-app.com in your browser, or delete (uninstall) the app from your device. - Your subscription. Deleting your Sovereign account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, Google, or Stripe โ not by us โ so you must cancel them where you bought them:
- iOS (App Store): Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Sovereign.
- Android (Google Play): Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Sovereign.
- Web (Stripe): cancel from your account billing page.
- Short-lived backup copies. Our database keeps routine backups. Residual copies of deleted rows may persist in those backups for up to about 30 days before they cycle out โ standard infrastructure behaviour. They are not used to restore your account.
Can’t access the app?
If you’re locked out โ you lost access to your sign-in email, the app won’t open, or you simply can’t reach the Danger Zone โ you can still have your account deleted by request.
Email [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We’ll verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner). Put Account deletion in the subject line so we can prioritise it.
This same path covers formal data-rights requests (California / EU / UK access, correction, portability, and deletion) โ we process those within 30 days as well.
